I've gone to Rudy's BBQ 3 time in the last 3 months
Once with Jeff and Carly, a must with a visit to TX
Once with Jarad on his dime (happy birthday me)because the girls were tired (say what!)
And once with Amanda an Jeff's dime for my birthday (happy birthday me again).

Anyone who comes to visit us (out of state) gets a free meal at Rudy's

(because of loop holes in contest rules looked for by a certain brother in law, who found myself and him a loop out of buying appetizers at our last family reunion, cause we lost at bowling on the Wii , the term "out of state" was used)

(And flying out of state and then back into state dosen't count either)

So we really have been doing a lot in the past few months since our last blog...

We've had some company come and see us!
Jeff and Carly came out in June for a very fun visit. It was so much fun to see more of Dallas with them here. We found (by accident) the Holocaust Museum, which we enjoyed going through, and also a fun place to eat called Gators...super fun, super good food and super hot, ahhhh, another day in a Texas.

The long awaited day has finally come! The day when; no longer shall we squint to see if Froto dropped the ring, into the fiery pits of Mnt. Doom. No longer shall we have the hesitation to sit across the room in thought that "thank goodness we have sound"! On the morning of our last day in San Diego the adults got to play The Perfect Pair game while Mom watched all the kids outside. The sad part was that even though I helped write the questions Justin and I came in last! We were the Newest Pair ,our prize was airheads. (notice the Pear trophies)

Nadia and Buck were the Bronze Pair ,their prize was snickers.

Scott and Melissa were the Silver Pair, their prize was Hot Tamales.

Oh, the Perfect Pair ! Tanya (pregnant with baby #3) and Brian won the title in a tie breaker, their prize was boxes and boxes of Nerds!

Christmas @ the Rock House

Christmas is by far the most energetic morning around here. We spent this Christmas in Garland, Tx at our little apartment we like to call the "roach motel". ( for the invasions of rather large visitors that would ocur every once in a while ) We hated that place. There is nothing like being scared in your own living room, like you are always being watched and you don't know what is learking in the next room for you to find. Oh, it might have not been that bad, but you get the drift. Anyway, what is this article about? Oh yeah, Christmas with the roaches....Rocks. Whatever! We had alot of fun starting in October and it pretty much doesn't stop this until the end of January ( its not even 1999 ) ending with the 5days in San Diego ( Blog to follow ). October 8 Aniversary, Jeff got married later that month so we went to Salt Lake, November 19 Amanda's Birthday, Thanksgiving went to the Johnstons to have the bomb dinner ( Amanda's Sister whom we live by ), Christmas, moving our cans 20 min away from the roach motel = ], New Years, then January Reunion, ouch all that, then to come down with our old familiar Hawaian disease "lakamula" ( means no cash ) But Christmas is the most exciting of the months of parting. As you can tell from the pic we enjoy our sleep, but we enjoyed more the teasing of Amanda that is Chrismas morning and she should get out of bed and be happy. Maybe not the other days, but Christmas morning it happened. ("Don't awake the sleeping dragon" is this a quote by Joseph Smith or the rule around our house in the morning for Justin, you decide). Amanda got new PJ's, "good" lotions, and Kung Fu Panda, I got Season 1&2 of Psych, some old dirtbike photos framed, and a new work mug to prevent dehydration. The Johnstons came over for Christmas dinner and we had alot of fun.

Gaming It Up

Christmas is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some gaming, Justin likes to play Command and Conquer3 Tiberium Wars: Kane's Wrath with Jarad online to "keep it real dawg". With the awesome capabilities of Verizon Fios 7mbs downloads we take advantage of Yahoo Mesanger to talk live to each other with the headset, because EA servers "got skimped on dawg". The glasses are for long term eye loss prevention, something about 60mhz display being "strainful on the eyes dawg". Oh well, we have fun. Thats also the sweet desk I made in Colorado. To support the awesomeness of the Beast -Thor- ( my computer ) Well, it was a beast two years ago now it's obsolete but I guess thats the way it goes. I still think its cool. Whatever.

The Carpenter

So I have said this before and I will say it until the day I die... I love being married to a carpenter! Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that the man I would marry would actually "build" me my dreams. I asked Justin to build me a little craft table for all my "junk" so he did...he built me an Oak table with Redwood trim and then stained it red mahogany...I love it. Justin has the ability to make the most unimportant piece of furniture a beautiful masterpiece. I thought the table looked great before it was stained and finished, now I'm afraid to cover it up with all my "junk". What a guy, I'm so glad I am married to a carpenter. Next project: build our dream house ( just as soon as we win the lottery)!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the sweet birthday present! The camera is awesome and the blog page is really going to be fun to. Well, we are almost all the way moved in. Amanda is working hard and happy to be in the new apartment. She is in the frame shop managing, at Michael's. We live in Garland. Here is our new address for everyone to send us stuff, 1343 East Interstate 30 #103 Garland, Tx 75043. Our new phone # is 972-240-7584. I've been busy, getting everything switched over to our new location, getting Texas plates and stuff like that. I just put new tires on the truck

and just got a bunch of new tools ( Yeah, I got a pic for that too )

This weekend I'm at Brian & Tanya's house and we are building them a bed, with the new tools.

It's going good and we should be done on Monday. We live about a mile from a Lake Ray Hubbard. Amanda crosses it everyday when she goes to work in Rockwall. Here is a map of where we live. We live on the "A". Amanda for a month was commuting from has Haslet, it is above Fort Worth, ( find it on the map ) to Rockwall. Ouch! Oh well, she has a 10min drive now. Next week, it'll be time to get serious for me to find a job, wish me luck. All good time off comes to an end. No church callings yet, but the bishop came over this week on his visits, and we played the 20 questions with him, so any time now I'm sure. Thats about all for now, but I wanna update this pretty frequently. Catch ya later.

Justin turns 26 this past Saturday!

After a turbulent childhood, this Mad Dog has finally made it to the ripe old age of 26. He now is enjoying better health, prosperity, winning percentages on C & C, and rates on his car insurance. Departing from his job that he loved so much, he ponders on how they are going to keep from going bankrupt without him, as he was single handedly keeping them in business. But this thought pales in comparison to his release from the Young Mens Presidency, "it was a bitter sweet moment, I'm gonna miss those little punks" said Justin. After a tough move, where his moving help was limited, and his brother dropped out at the last minute due to rising engagement ring, I mean, gas prices, Justin and Amanda are now adjusting to the new life in Rockwall, Texas. While introducing himself to the bishop of his new Rockwall ward, he explained how he was released from being YM President in Colorado Springs, Justin has now become a prime target for the vacancy in the YM organization or perhaps the bishopric. And at such a young age! Justin is pleased with the promotion that his wife, Amanda, has recieved. In addition to killer tax returns, he now enjoys good health insurance and incredible discounts on all his homemaking and guys craft night ideas, as long as he shops at Michaels. With his free time he has found the benefits of instant messaging on Yahoo messenger, and free phone calls to his brothers via gaming headsets. "You can talk to family and play computer games at the exact same time! It's Amazing!" It is amazing how much he is figuring out, now that he has more time on his hands to think about them. Searching for a new job is his current task, "there are just so many options that deciding on just one is turning out to be very challenging. It is kind nice to be in the unemployment line, I even think we could qualify for welfare if I can keep Amanda's hours down" said Justin. I have no response to that.

Happy Birthday Bro. It is great to have you for a brother. I really appreciate your friendship and attitude towards life. Have a great year and look for your present that is coming in the mail probably at the end of next week, sorry about the belated it became the 19th before I knew what happened. I set up this blog for you, Amanda, and fam, to tide you over, now its your job to figure it out. And keep it up to date.
