More Toys?

So my Samsung-3600 Blu-Ray Player would only play like out 1 of 4 Blu-Rays
So I took it back and got a PS3 baby!

Jack Stanley Johnston

Thought this was a great pic of the Johnstons on the day of Jack's blessing.
Welcome to Earth Jack!

Best Food On Earth

I've gone to Rudy's BBQ 3 time in the last 3 months
Once with Jeff and Carly, a must with a visit to TX
Once with Jarad on his dime (happy birthday me)because the girls were tired (say what!)
And once with Amanda an Jeff's dime for my birthday (happy birthday me again).

Anyone who comes to visit us (out of state) gets a free meal at Rudy's
(because of loop holes in contest rules looked for by a certain brother in law, who found myself and him a loop out of buying appetizers at our last family reunion, cause we lost at bowling on the Wii , the term "out of state" was used)
(Starts with a Br and ends with a ian, not to say any names)
(And flying out of state and then back into state dosen't count either)
(Though we do have to make a trip up there with you guys)
( Call us and we'll go )

Jarad and Jen and Ellyn

Out spending the monet in paris. LOL

Ripley's

When Jarad and Jen came out we went to Ripley's "believe it or not"
It was kind of grusome but enjoyable. We really like the maze of mirriors and the lazer race!

miceandkeyboardsforkids.com

Even Babies know where the action is at. It's a phenomenon that is underestimated and misunderstood; the reason for the attraction of babies to expensive electronics. So I've started this web site to supply the world with decoy mice and keyboards to pacify the self proclaimed over privileged child to obtain less dramatic functions. Check it out! My new addition will be the cell phone and bullet prove TV screen =] coming Nov. 2009

Word Ellyn

Alien or Ellyan

Ellyn Rock came to visit us for a week in July and for my birthday!
(the airport said she had to bring her parents so Jarad and Jen came too )
Someone likes the water! Rock On!

Fireworks

So these were the fireworks just outside our window, they lasted for about an hour, and got a lot cooler after we stopped recording (or course)!

Happy Fourth of July

I think the cookies speak for themselves....it's a flag...and it's a cookie.....yes, it's a flag cookie:)

Baby Jack

Here's our newest nephew, Baby Jack! He's such a babe. I love my sisters babies 'cause they're always so cuddly and so happy. Jack is no exeption. This is him just 6 days after he was born. He was 10 lb. something oz. and 23 in. long.....oh baby! Just look at all that hair!

Summer Fun!

So we really have been doing a lot in the past few months since our last blog...

We've had some company come and see us!
Jeff and Carly came out in June for a very fun visit. It was so much fun to see more of Dallas with them here. We found (by accident) the Holocaust Museum, which we enjoyed going through, and also a fun place to eat called Gators...super fun, super good food and super hot, ahhhh, another day in a Texas.

Upgrade Complete!

The long awaited day has finally come! The day when; no longer shall we squint to see if Froto dropped the ring, into the fiery pits of Mnt. Doom. No longer shall we have the hesitation to sit across the room in thought that "thank goodness we have sound"! No longer is our movie watching based solely on story lines, but now also a "great visual epic". Upgrades are now not limited to Carter, Teal'c, and Jack O'Neal, but have been extended to us by the same forces that drive "Adama to Earth". To enjoy the quality of picture that went from man to "Hulk" and we liked it when he got angry! We are pleased to announce the arrival of the newest form of technology at the Rock house. Samsung LN46A650! aka Thor's Hammer

I'm so glad we did manage to grab a camera and take some pictures with everyone around. I think we've got a pretty good looking family!

The Perfect Pair

On the morning of our last day in San Diego the adults got to play The Perfect Pair game while Mom watched all the kids outside. The sad part was that even though I helped write the questions Justin and I came in last! We were the Newest Pair ,our prize was airheads. (notice the Pear trophies)

Nadia and Buck were the Bronze Pair ,their prize was snickers.

Scott and Melissa were the Silver Pair, their prize was Hot Tamales.

Oh, the Perfect Pair ! Tanya (pregnant with baby #3) and Brian won the title in a tie breaker, their prize was boxes and boxes of Nerds!

All the little people

These are the people that make it all worth while...the little people:)

Liam and Addison at the beach (cousins)

This was too funny. Aside from the Blues Clues shorts ( we left ours home this trip) Justin (26) and Joshie (3) have the same taste in clothes. Shorts, t-shirt, white socks pulled up to the shin, and of course skater shoes...it's a mini-me moment!

They may be small, but...

Jacob

... these kids are fast, confident, gravity defying, loud, smart, energetic, fearless, negotiating, multi-language speaking, hair pulling, constantly talking, always inventing and cool to be around!

Addison

Josh, Addi & Jake

My peeps!

Fun in the Sun

On our third day in San Diego we took a short hike to the beach. The hike was fun and the weather was nice and sunny. It didn't take long before Justin decided he needed to take a dip in the cold ocean, here's the frozen body surfer...

Christmas @ the Rock House

Christmas is by far the most energetic morning around here. We spent this Christmas in Garland, Tx at our little apartment we like to call the "roach motel". ( for the invasions of rather large visitors that would ocur every once in a while ) We hated that place. There is nothing like being scared in your own living room, like you are always being watched and you don't know what is learking in the next room for you to find. Oh, it might have not been that bad, but you get the drift. Anyway, what is this article about? Oh yeah, Christmas with the roaches....Rocks. Whatever! We had alot of fun starting in October and it pretty much doesn't stop this until the end of January ( its not even 1999 ) ending with the 5days in San Diego ( Blog to follow ). October 8 Aniversary, Jeff got married later that month so we went to Salt Lake, November 19 Amanda's Birthday, Thanksgiving went to the Johnstons to have the bomb dinner ( Amanda's Sister whom we live by ), Christmas, moving our cans 20 min away from the roach motel = ], New Years, then January Reunion, ouch all that, then to come down with our old familiar Hawaian disease "lakamula" ( means no cash ) But Christmas is the most exciting of the months of parting. As you can tell from the pic we enjoy our sleep, but we enjoyed more the teasing of Amanda that is Chrismas morning and she should get out of bed and be happy. Maybe not the other days, but Christmas morning it happened. ("Don't awake the sleeping dragon" is this a quote by Joseph Smith or the rule around our house in the morning for Justin, you decide). Amanda got new PJ's, "good" lotions, and Kung Fu Panda, I got Season 1&2 of Psych, some old dirtbike photos framed, and a new work mug to prevent dehydration. The Johnstons came over for Christmas dinner and we had alot of fun.

Gaming It Up

Christmas is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some gaming, Justin likes to play Command and Conquer3 Tiberium Wars: Kane's Wrath with Jarad online to "keep it real dawg". With the awesome capabilities of Verizon Fios 7mbs downloads we take advantage of Yahoo Mesanger to talk live to each other with the headset, because EA servers "got skimped on dawg". The glasses are for long term eye loss prevention, something about 60mhz display being "strainful on the eyes dawg". Oh well, we have fun. Thats also the sweet desk I made in Colorado. To support the awesomeness of the Beast -Thor- ( my computer ) Well, it was a beast two years ago now it's obsolete but I guess thats the way it goes. I still think its cool. Whatever.
